The Urban History Festival is a recurring event organized by the Luxembourg City Museum with the aim to make people curious about the history of their city. Each edition is held in a different part of the city, this time it is will be in Bonnevoie.

This neighborhood has a rich working-class history in connection with the railway, cultural and sports initiatives such as the “Gym”, which is the oldest sports club in the city. Today this neighborhood is characterized by its multicultural population, and we are looking forward to present a diverse array of voices and stories about its past and present.

    Impresso

Using a massive collection of old newspapers and radio recordings, impresso – Media Monitoring of the Past is a research project that combines different fields to change how we analyze and understand historical media. It uses machine learning to improve how we organize, add meaning to, represent, explore, and study media from the past, regardless of format, time period, language, or country.

On the right you can see an example of an article in the public domain that relates to this research theme.
